Spening detail and teachers' pay in PBR

The 2009 Pre Budget Report papers show that funding for front-line schools will rise by 0.7% in real terms in 2011-12 and 2012-13.

Spending on Sure Start Children's Centres will rise in line with inflation, so no real terms increase.

Funding for 16-19 participation rises will rise by 0.9% in real terms.

However there will be savings made in public sector pay.Teachers like other public sector workers will face a 1% cap on basic pay rises for 2001-12 and 2012-13.

No protectionoffered for FE and HE which will have to wait for the Comprehensive Spending Review promised some time next year.
