Sir Tim Brighouse criticises micro-management of schools

03 Jul 2009

This week I chaired the first of a new series of Oxford Education Debates. The idea is to revisit the education debate launched over 30 years ago in Oxford by the then Labour Prime Minister, Jim Callaghan.

The first speaker was professor Sir Tim Brighouse, who delivered a powerful critique of the way recent governments have micro-managed schools.

The event was hosted by the National Education Trust and Oxford Brookes University.
